Graduated with Honours in Economics from the University of London. Leonard undertook special electives in Criminology and International Business Strategy from the London School of Economics..

Leonard has 15 years of security management experience drawn from both the public and private sectors. He is a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) with the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS), which is the highest professional certification in the security profession. He is also a Certified Fraud Specialist (CFS) with the Association of Certified Fraud Specialist (ACFS), an organization of security professionals dedicated to fraud prevention and investigation.

Leonard is an active volunteer leader with ASIS Singapore Chapter and has played a principal role in developing the SMa - ASIS Professional Diploma Security Management program.
